Layla: Adopted

Out with the old... in with the Brute.

The crazy kid has gone to be crazy with another family.  The momma told them over and over that she's crazy, energetic, mischievous and in need of some serious training and socialization.  You see, while she was very well behaved with me... she got a little aggressive with other dogs.
Crazy. Kid. For. Sure.

So, her new family, knowing all there was to know about Miss Layla, said they were up for the challenge and took her home.  Good luck, kid.  Can't wait to see how you mature!

Layla: Laters Blogyville!

So, with Layla adopted... I got a new friend back.
Remember this kid?

That's right, Brutus is back!

Unfortunately, Brutey's new dad worked an awful lot and he didn't feel it was fair to Brutus.  It really sucks because they were a great match for each other.  It's very clear that Brutus was well cared for and loved, and that Brutus loved him too.  But, he's back and ready for action.

Brutus: Did ya miss me?

And, Layla's brother Rocky came for a visit Saturday night.  His foster family was out of town, so he got to play with me and the Brute for the night!

Good looks must run in the family!

Quite a busy weekend for this Corbin!

Thanks to every who wished the momma a Happy Birthday!  I was able to steal her away and have some one-on-one Corbin time yesterday.
She needed that.

  1. I'm really disappointed that Brutus was returned. It sounds like it was just an excuse because maybe that guy wasn't ready to take on a dog at this time. I am sure if all dogs had a vote they'd say they'd rather we all quit our jobs to stay home with them. I am gone from the house 10 hours a day but when I am home and on the weekends - that's all Blueberry time and she is just fine with that.

Sorry for Brutey - such a handsome fella and I am sure he is feeling confused about getting bounced all over the place lately. Thankfully - he has you to fall back on so at least there is some normalcy for him.

Glad to hear Layla was adopted - although I don't think anyone is surprised since she is such a cutey pie!

  2. Way to go Layla - I hope the family are up to the challenge - and how sad that it didn't work out with Brutus....but you two get along so well and I bet your Mom is kinda glad he is back - I think she liked his cuddliness

  3. I knew Layla would be snapped up in a heart beat. Sad about Brutus but I know your mom will work super hard to find him his forever home.

Like Blueberry's human said, all out dogs would love us home all the time, but that's just not always possible. :-)

In the meantime, enjoy the company while you can.

  5. Hi Corbin
What a revolving door your home has! I don't know how you keep it all straight. I hope Layla's new family follows through on her training so that she can become the kind of pet they want.
I was so hoping that Brutus found his forever home. What is it about these adoptive PAWrents? Do they not know how spirited young pups are? Even passive pups have a playful crazy side to them.

  6. Congrrats on getting Layla adopted! That's wonderful. Sorry to hear Brutus's happy ending didn't work out quite as planned, but I'm sure he'll find a perfect home.

You know, when Cinderella was returned by her adopters, her furever home ended up being with US. Just saying. :)

  7. Oh, I just knew that Layla was just TOO cute not to get snatched up! Good Luck girl!!
You are sooo right, Layla and Brutus look ALOT alike!
I'm sorry things didn't work out, but Brutus is just too much of a gentleman to be unadopted for long.

    Kisses,

    Ruby

  15. Congrats on Layla's adoption! Sorry Brutus didn't find his forever home, glad you were able to take him in again. He and Corbin are so handsome; it looks like Corbin is flexing in the picture with Brutus, "check out those lats!"
